Spell check...and this week...
October 6th, 2008 by Dave VintonThanks for the comments that caught my goof about Manly...versus Manley...in spelling. I'm blaming it on the flu I had last week...but it is indeed - MANLEY. Sorry about that.

This week's TV fun:
OIA Football - Waianae vs Mililani - 7:30pm live on OC16 from Waianae. Despite both teams losing this past weekend - or maybe because of the losses - this game could have a big impact on the Red West title winner.Â

Grats to Nolan Tokuda who told me before the season even started that Waipahu would surprise a lot of people. Coach Tokuda and Coach Sean Saturnio are very close friends. So the two scrimmaged during training camp and that's when Tokuda knew the Marauders were for real.
I've written before about Coach Saturnio but - again - it's wonderful to see the pride, discipline, and self worth that program injects into the players and school.  Every once in a while, nice guys and teams, don't finish last.
FYI...Waipahu hosts Leilehua on Saturday at Waipahu. Â

Haha, the flu, good one Dave. Possibly a reasonable excuse, except that you committed the same error one blog prior in the Chili's blog, haha. That's why spell check isn't always the greatest tool
Those two games are going to be giant games for these 4 teams. The OIA Red West is such a tight race that it's ridiculous. Let's just hope that Waianae loses to Mililani and Leilehua beats Waipahu

sorry to spoil the party; but there was a damien vs. st. louis game on friday, 10/24/08; which would have determined the ilh 1st half championship (if (big one) st. louis lost, then punahou wins the 1st 1/2 outright.
however, there is absolutely NO mention in the honoluluadvertiser.com, starbulletin.com or khnl.com
